ACE Essay Service Refund Guarantee: What to Check
A source-led review of ACE Academic Services' advertised pass-or-refund promise, Carousell Buyer Protection limits, and academic-integrity risks.
Commercial disclosure: Codingo operates in this market and may compete with providers discussed here. This review uses dated public materials; unless expressly stated, we did not purchase or test the provider's work. Linked claims remain open to correction.
Short answer: ACE Academic Services currently advertises a “100% pass or 200% refund” promise on Carousell. That is a public marketing claim made by the seller, subject to its stated order guide; it is not an independently verified outcome or a Carousell-backed guarantee. The same listing says returns and refunds depend on the seller’s decision and are not covered by Buyer Protection. Students should therefore ask for the complete written conditions before paying—and remember that no refund can reverse an academic-integrity finding.
Evidence snapshot — 14 July 2026: This article records what was visible in the cited public sources on this date. Listings, profiles, policies and review totals can change. We distinguish advertisements, reported accounts and institutional rules; we do not treat any allegation as a proven fact.
What ACE’s “100% Pass or 200% Refund” Listing Actually Says
ACE’s public Carousell listing prominently advertises a pass-or-refund proposition. The description also says the guarantee applies when the customer follows its order guide. Those two details should be read together. “200% refund” is the headline; compliance with a separate framework is part of the advertised qualification.
This does not prove that the promise is false. Equally, a prominent headline does not tell a buyer everything needed to assess a refund claim. The practical questions are in the definitions and exclusions: what counts as a pass, which document proves the result, when a claim must be filed, whether revisions must be exhausted, and what happens when instructions or deadlines change.
The careful conclusion is simple: the guarantee exists as an advertised seller claim. Its application to an individual order depends on the seller’s written terms and the facts of that order.
Three Different Risks That a Refund Headline Can Blur
1. Service-performance risk
This is the ordinary consumer question: was the agreed material delivered on time and to the agreed scope? A useful written order should identify the deliverable, deadline, price, revision scope and acceptance process. A grade is not a substitute for these basic service terms.
2. Grade risk
A lecturer controls marking, not a commercial provider. Marks may depend on the student’s own interpretation, oral defence, module materials, citation choices, group contribution and compliance with instructions. Ask how “pass” is defined if a listing makes a pass-related claim. Is it a pass for one component, the module, or the final submission after the student’s own changes?
3. Academic-integrity risk
This is the risk a monetary promise cannot absorb. If a student submits third-party work as their own, a school may investigate the authorship and impose discipline under its rules. The Ministry of Education told The Straits Times in 2021 that academic fraud, including ghost-writing and contract cheating, is prohibited and that disciplinary action may include expulsion. That is not automatic expulsion in every case; institutions apply their own procedures and sanctions.

Is the ACE Refund Covered by Carousell Buyer Protection?
The ACE listing’s transaction information says returns and refunds depend on the seller’s decision and that the listing is not covered by Buyer Protection. This matters because a seller-funded promise and platform protection are different mechanisms.
Carousell’s Help Centre explains that Buyer Protection generally applies to eligible transactions completed and paid through the Buy button, with covered disputes such as an item not arriving or being significantly different from its description. Its coverage page, checked 14 July 2026, expressly excludes Services, including customisable products described as services with tangible outcomes, and excludes partial or full payment outside the platform, including direct bank transfer, cash or PayNow outside the app. The ACE listing independently states that it is not covered.
Where a listing expressly says it is outside Buyer Protection, do not assume Carousell will automatically hold the payment, decide whether a grade condition was met or pay a 200% amount. Preserve the listing and the seller’s written terms, but treat the refund question as one to settle clearly with the seller before purchase.
Questions to Ask Before Relying on Any Pass Guarantee
Ask in the same message thread and obtain answers in writing:
- What exactly does “100% pass” refer to: an assessment, a course or a final grade?
- What evidence is required, and may unrelated components affect eligibility?
- What is the deadline for making a claim?
- Must all revisions be requested before a refund claim?
- Which changes to the brief, rubric or deadline can void the promise?
- Does “200%” mean twice every payment made, or only a defined project fee?
- How long does assessment and payment of an approved claim take?
- Who decides a disagreement, and is any neutral review available?
- Is the transaction processed through a protected in-app payment flow?
- Is the support permitted by the module, and will the student create and understand the final submission?
Take screenshots of the live listing, order guide and agreed scope. Avoid moving to an off-platform payment method until you understand what protection is lost. Never provide login credentials or ask another person to sit an assessment.
What the 2021 Straits Times Report Does—and Does Not—Establish
The Straits Times reported an account from an unnamed 24-year-old graduate who said he paid S$185 to Ace Essay Service to complete an international-business assignment. The report also carried MOE’s general warning about contract cheating.
That is a reported, unnamed customer account in a newspaper. It is not a court ruling, regulator finding or university determination against ACE. It also does not establish that every ACE engagement is contract cheating. The academic-integrity question turns on what help was supplied, what the student did with it and the applicable school rules.
This distinction is important because search terms such as “ACE Essay Service scam” invite a yes-or-no verdict that the cited evidence does not support. Our review found an advertised guarantee with conditions and a lack of Buyer Protection on the cited listing; it did not find a basis to label the business a scam or the guarantee “hollow”.
How Codingo Handles Grades and Refunds
Codingo does not guarantee grades. Its published Refund Policy states that a lower-than-expected grade is not a refund ground and that materials are draft samples or reference points to be reviewed and adapted responsibly. The policy describes payments as non-refundable and contains two restrictive one-hour conditions: one measured from final delivery and another from the original transaction. It also describes an investigation process for refund requests. Because those timing clauses address different events, customers should read the exact policy rather than rely on a shorthand summary. Codingo’s Terms and Conditions explain scope, resources, communication and order changes.
Those terms are stricter than many customers may expect, so read them before paying. Transparency is not the same as generosity. Codingo’s position is that no provider controls a lecturer’s mark and that a customer should evaluate the agreed service rather than buy a promised grade.
If you want tutoring, explanation, editing, debugging or a reference draft you will substantially develop yourself, contact Codingo with the brief and your institution’s permitted-support rules. Do not proceed with any arrangement that would require impersonation, account sharing, a third party taking a live assessment or submission of another person’s work as your own.

The separate ACE pricing and fees checklist focuses on the final quotation, payment recipient, and scope rather than repeating the refund analysis.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does ACE Essay Service really advertise a 200% refund?
Yes. The cited ACE Carousell listing publicly advertises “100% pass or 200% refund” and says its order guide must be followed. We are describing the advertisement, not verifying that every customer qualifies or predicting how a claim would be decided.
Will Carousell pay the refund if ACE does not?
Do not assume so. The cited listing says refunds depend on the seller’s decision and are not covered by Buyer Protection. Ask the seller and Carousell what applies to the exact transaction before paying.
Can a 200% refund protect my degree?
No financial refund controls a school’s academic-integrity process. If support crosses into third-party authorship submitted as the student’s own, disciplinary action is possible under institutional rules.
Is a pass guarantee illegal in Singapore?
This article makes no such claim. Advertising, contract enforceability, consumer protection and academic misconduct are different legal and policy questions. Obtain legal advice for a specific dispute.
Does Codingo guarantee grades or offer easy refunds?
No. Codingo expressly does not guarantee grades, and its published refund terms are restrictive. Read the Refund Policy and agree the scope in writing before payment.
